Among all his other duties, Jay taught us SCUBA during one of our voyages to Bermuda.

He was a good teacher and I have enjoyed many fun underwater experiences since his training.

Fair winds Jay.

Dave,

Am sorry to hear of Jay's passing. He was a very important part of my learning process in all things Marine. For that I will always be grateful. Please give my condolences to the family.

All the Best, Drew

Great memories Jim.They were some good years at Tabor and primarily due to the schooner and the friends we made.

From 1970-1972 I did 5 Bermuda cruises with Jay (numerous dives too), a Bahamas and two Charlestons.  Even attended his wedding reception in 1971.  Looking back on those days I'm still happy that I keep in touch with Karen & Christine (OK Dave Williams too).  I miss Cap, Mrs G. and Jay.  Still remember Jay's, long "Mow-ning" every morning on watch.  I still use it.

My folks always  commented that when my brother, Bob '71, and I attended Tabor they were the best years.  Guess it was because they got us out of the house.

Dave,

Thanks for posting this. He was such a great man and put in a lot of time at the Tabor waterfront. He will be missed!
