Hey, we were teenagers, what else are you supposed to do with Mopeds? At least I only went through ONE during the 2 weeks. I forget who it was, but one of the guys on our trip ended up going back to Smatts Cycles (still there by the way) at least a couple times needing a new bike. If I recall correctly, on of them was because he drove the bike into the water...

As I recall Pete Perry, commisary officer 73-74, drove his moped off the end of the dock in Hamilton right where we were tied up in June 1974. Pete if I am libelling you I apologize. You kept us entertained. I'm not one to talk, having ridden my own Schwinn Sting Ray off the end of the dock by Hoyt Hall (now the Fireman Center) in Oct 73. (The brakes failed. Really they did.)
