Good luck with that. I had a shoulder operation two falls ago - torn bicep, spurs, and a frozen shoulder. It's tough getting old, isn't it!?!

Damn, I didn't see you there. Also, Frank Stephenson was there and I didn't see him either. Anyway, it would be good to get the crew together sometime. I'm down in Virginia (actually in Mississippi at the moment) but would come up and I'm sure we could coax some of the other guys too.

I miss him too. I have thought of him often. For a while i was operatong a small schooner and taking inner city youth out. There were times when i thought that i lnew how much cap must have enjoyed mentoring, although I think he would have been hard pressed to admit it. I went down to TA for his memorial service after he passed away. My Dad was with me from oiy of tpwn and on a tight scjedule so I couldnt stay and catch up woth anyone. Happy to have found this cyber port. Lets try to get some of the guys together sometime.

Hahhhh! I do remember how interesting it was that everyone would pitch in to help so quickly when their liberty depended on the dishes being done!

I can't tell you how much I miss Cap at times. Every once and a while, I'll want to tell him about something that happened on our ships or tell him a sea story. I'm sure that he's laughing at us all or still yelling at us!

got that right, mate! The first time I was in an anchor locker as an O.S. in the oil field I realized how easy I had it on "the labor toy". Remember when we were in a port how it was never a problem getting the galley squared away after dinner because Cap wouldn't let anyone have liberty 'till the last dish was put away? I remember Cap telling us all that one day we would look back on our time aboard the schooner as some of the best times of our lives. He was right again. R.I.P Cap

Barny, this is bringing back memories. Not memories of culinary delights but memories of cleaning up all the breakfast dishes for you only to stow anchor chain after. They were all good times. I would turn back the clock and do it agian if I had the opertunity.
