Favorite Tabor Boy moment: There are many that come to mind as I gaze at an oil painting in my office of Tabor Boy under full sail with Topsail and Courser flying. One that I am reminded of every time I look to the North sky was a brisk fall Friday evening sail out of Sippican Harbor. The sky was clear, there was a slight chop and the sails were catching a ten knot breeze. Captain Glaeser was pointing out the stars and constellations in the night sky; The Big Dipper, low in the sky, Merak, Dubhe the North Star and the Little Dipper. I had finally been chosen to be a member of The Schooner Crew! As I snuggled into my new sleeping bag in the foc'sle I new that I wanted to spend as much time as I could sailing on Tabor Boy – and indeed I did.

One can’t change the past, but one can change the future today. It is only natural that we "second guess" or think "what if" sometimes - we just can't dwell on the "what if's".

I have met some great people over the years through my business, many of whom I am still in touch. Many theaters large and small have equipment furnished and installed by my company (including Tabor's Fireman Performing Arts Center). At this time of year I do think about the nine years I spent providing lighting for Dick Clark's Rockin New Years Eve. I never thought I would spend New Year's Eve in Times Square! Yes, I have alot to look back on and say "wow".

Now I watch the ball drop from the comforts of home -if I can stay a wake!

I started with a 100ton lic. and worked my way up to holding : Masters 3000T any Ocean: 500T Master Aux.sail; and 100T Sail Only. Also Dynamic Positioning Master in Offshore Oil Industry. I enjoy making rustic furniture from the beautiful wood we have done here in Costa Rica. I try to spend 6 mos in C.R and 6 mos. in Palm Beach..My old college roommate has a home in Palm Beach, and lives alone. I started the Newport Harbor Launch Service in 1973 and sold it to Oldport Marine Inc. in 1976. I was married for 20 tears and my wife and I operated some great charter and private yachts in the Caribbean, Virgins, and Bahamas etc..It's really enjoyable hearing from you...I can't believe it's been 50 years.

Glad to hear you are happy and well. I'm trying to figure out how to use this website. I stumbled into it looking for pictures of the Tabor Boy. When Cap passed away, I went to Cap's Florida's service with Pete Warburton.

Your reference as to where to look for me must have been prior to 1984, because I've been a very happy member of A.A. for 26 years.
